'twas a chilling December night on the town
the D-Boys, Lexy and me
laughing and flailing from bar to bar
in the soft light of Christmas trees

we found ourselves spreading joy to the world
with short ones, peanuts and beer
we ravaged the Pixie down on K-Street
in the most wonderful time of the year

the barkeep was flapping and squealing away
Pixie-Simon seemed quite irate
we laughed in his face and went on to proclaim
the ladies of Splitsville await

so we bailed and we stumbled through orange-lit streets
past puddles of vomit and booze
and I pulled out a jar that I stole from the bar
full of tips to pay for our dues

singing Merry Christmas to all
harmonizing our stumbles and falls
bystanders threw us a glance
but we never gave them a chance
to ruin our festive call

we dove straight in the next beer-drenched dive
lined up and ordered a-new
a raven-haired girl caught Lexy’s eye
he went up to buy her a brew

we didn’t quite get how Lexy could miss
the massive dude by her side
before we knew all hell broke lose
when Lex had to floor the poor guy

the boyfriends crew came charging at us
blood up and seeking a fight
I caught a hard left, but I dealt a hard right
while the D-Boys broke a few smiles

Sanderstreet was glowing in blue
as the law stormed into the bar
the Ds were cuffed while Lexy escaped
I threw up in the copper boy's car

harmonizing behind Officer Paul
police men threw us a glance
but we never gave them the chance
to ruin our festive call

I woke in my cell with a headache from hell
the D-Boys snoring away
a drunk tank cop yelled, "Wake up you lot!
